Advent Curriculum

A note from Rev. Herrscher regarding the 2008 Advent Study: "After prayerful discussion with Kyla, we have chosen the "Advent 2008 Come to the Manger" adult curriculum for Adult SS for Advent. The curriculum written by Robert Kaylor and published by Abingdon Press/Cokesbury. It is available at Cokesbury and is based on the Scriptures of the Revised Common Lectionary, from which Ron preaches during Advent. And perhaps equally interesting, the selected study was written by my pastor, the pastor of the campus ministry during my freshman year at Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA. I knew him as Bob Kaylor, not as "Robert Kaylor." Furthermore I had completely lost track with him because before I started my sophomore year of college, he and his family had moved to Colorado Springs to take an appointment in that conference. However, the way to reconnect with him came to me 11 years later via Advent curriculum! And while you might now thing there was a bias, I paid no attention to the authors in my discernment and didn't even realize tha t I

knew him until yesterday! So while the cover art and title of the study are pretty ordinary, I am confident that this study will be a blessing."

I have purchased a copy of the study book and a leader's guide for every Adult Sunday School Class as well as for the Singles, Young Adult, and College SS classes. Each additional book may be purchased for $8.00. I will have your Advent study materials in your class, next Sunday, November 16th.
